Assistant Nurse Manager – Mom Baby

Hours: 6am – 6:30pm
Job Summary:
Manages activities of the unit(s), monitors quality, service and utilization standards. Supervises the day-to-day shift activities. Assistant Nurse Manager has RN's reporting directly; guides the team through a specific shift in Level III Maternal Child Health department, Mom/Baby. Assists with annual review, grievances, responds to patients and family concerns, main liaison with MD team, works with hospital admit team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the daily clinical operations, focusing on maintaining practice standards, effective staffing, and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Supervise a team of 20-60+ staff members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and departmental policies.
- Optimize staffing and resource allocation based on patient acuity and census, ensuring high-quality care delivery while seeking opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Manage unit operations, including employee performance, safety protocols, and risk management activities.
- Ensure seamless coordination of patient care plans, prioritizing patient-centered care and efficient resource utilization.
- Foster collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care outcomes and integrate evidence-based practices across the unit.
Qualifications:
- Must have Mom/Baby RN experience in last 5 years
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as Lead, Charge or Asst. Manager/Supervisor experience
- Must have current California RN license
- Basic Life Support
- ACLS certification strongly preferred.
- Must have BS or BSN degree, MS/MSN preferred.
- Experience in a union hospital environment preferred
Compensation:
Competitive compensation - $185,000 – $267,200.
