Assistant Nurse Manager – NICU

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Nurse Manager for our NICU unit. The successful candidate will manage unit activities, monitor quality, service, and utilization standards, and supervise day-to-day shift activities to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Essential Responsibilities:

Clinical Operations Management: Oversee daily clinical operations, including practice standards, staffing, payroll, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and departmental policies and procedures.

Staff Development: Develop and implement action plans to improve staff development. Supervise a unit (8 to 24 hours) with approximately 30 employees.

Resource Allocation: Monitor personnel allocation and utilization based on patient population/needs to provide the best level of patient care while identifying savings opportunities.

Unit Operations Supervision: Supervise daily unit operations, including human resources management, department and employee safety programs, and risk management.

Quality and Service Standards: Monitor quality of service and utilization standards, taking specific responsibility for patient care at the unit level. Ensure coordinated treatment plans, customer-focused care, and cost-effective service utilization.

Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers outside the unit to achieve optimal patient care across the continuum. Research, identify, and implement best practice models from other units. Investigate and resolve patient/family member concerns regarding patient care.
Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years of recent experience in Level III facility, NICU
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as Lead, Charge, or Assistant Manager/Supervisor.
- Must have current California RN license.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- ACLS certification strongly preferred.
- Must have BSN degree or higher.
- Experience in a union hospital environment preferred.
Compensation:
Salary: Competitive compensation of $150,000 - $154,000.
