Medical Physicist
Seeking an experienced Medical Physicist to join a practice in northern Idaho.
The Medical Physicist will perform duties pertaining to treatment machine calibration, dosimetry, treatment planning, and monitoring of radiation received by employees. He/she will also have responsibilities in helping with simulation of patients and teaching therapists in areas of dosimetry and computer planning and supervises the Medical Dosimetrist.
Full-time position
Monday to Friday schedule – 8am – 5pm
The Radiation Oncology Program includes:
· 1 full time onsite dosimetrist and remote dosimetry support of a .8 (64 hr/pay period)
· 3 full time radiation therapists with one position posted. We would want 4 to be fully staffed
· 1 full time radiation oncologist
· 1 full time onsite physicist; we do not feel a remote position would work for our clinic.
· 2 Elekta Synergies (our radiation machines/linear accelerators); we are getting a new Elekta Versa and will decommission the older Synergy
· Current EMR is Mosaiq
· Radiation planning system is currently Pinnacle but will change to Monaco when we get the new Linac.
· We do 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and will be able to do VMAT with the new machine coming the first of the year. We do NOT do brachytherapy
· Average is about 35 patients on treatment but anticipate this will increase to 40-45 once we have the new Linac.
· Contract with Cancer Care Northwest to also provide additional support for dosimetry and physics when needed
