Nursing Department Manager - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Job Summary:
 Responsible for managing the delivery of nursing services and ensuring safe patient care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. Collaborates with leadership to develop and maintain clinical standards, manages budgets, staffing, quality improvement, and promotes a culture of safety.

Essential Responsibilities:

• 24-hour management of nursing services.
• Establishes patient care standards and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Oversees staff development, hiring, training, and competency.
• Monitors budget, implements strategies to reduce costs and enhance care quality.
• Develops departmental policies, resolves HR and risk management issues.
• Manages a 5-OR suite with ~35 direct reports, handling ~200 cases/month.

Qualifications:

• CA RN license
• American Heart Association BLS
• BSN or MSN
• 5 years recent OR RN experience in acute care (no surgery center/Cath Lab)
• 3 years recent RN Manager/Supervisor experience (not Charge Nurse)
• Preferred:
• MSN, CNOR certification
• Management in a union environment

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $152,500 – $192,500/yr
• Sign-on bonus (10% of base salary) and annual bonuses
