Occupational Health Physician Opportunity in Augusta, GA

 

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Physician in Augusta, GA, to provide clinical services at the Health & Wellness Center.  In this role, you will also supervise support staff and contribute to program development for high-quality medical care.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in primary care, with a focus on family practice or internal medicine.
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Current valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state(s) of employment.
  • Current unrestricted DEA certificate and state agency regulating controlled substances if applicable.
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Occupational Medicine is a plus.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or working toward certification.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional experience in occupational medicine and management is desired.
  • Familiarity with the local medical community.
  • Experience working with nurse practitioners and medical assistants is a plus.
  • Ongoing participation in continuing medical education.
  • Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding associate clinical information.
  • Ability to foster a team spirit essential for goal achievement and client retention.
  • Experience with using an EMR system is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Services: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat episodic and work-related illnesses and injuries. Provide emergency medical care, triage, and referrals.
  • Provide clinical care with an emphasis on risk factors, disease prevention, and health assessment counseling.
  • Administrative: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Health & Wellness Center. Supervise site staff, ensure smooth daily operations, and uphold quality care standards.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Director – Medical Administration, and the corporate medical team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, OSHA) and corporate policies.
  • Act as a liaison with local HR and management to address issues affecting patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
